THE BLACKWATER EXPEDITIONS
Curated journeys through the Trinity of the South. Okefenokee. Suwannee. St. Marys.
START HERE: FEATURED EXPEDITION
We set out for a 12-mile push into the Okefenokee, but low water shut it down fast — scraping bottom by mile 3 with miles still to go, so we turned back. We pivoted to the St. Marys River, found a high sandbar camp, lit a fire quick, bank-fished bluegill and redbreast until dark, and ate a simple supper before turning in — the plan broke, but the night delivered anyway.
