We have not paddled North Carolina yet, and this book does not pretend otherwise. We did not want to guess at these rivers, so every page comes from the people who look after that water: NC State Parks, NC State Trails, the refuges, the Nature Conservancy, American Whitewater and the riverkeepers. Each page says who. When we get to a river ourselves, its page changes over to ours.
