Blackwater Outdoor Journeys LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates blackwateroutdoorjourneys.com and its store. This page explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It applies to this site only; Camping Wilderness Skills and the Skool community it runs on have their own privacy terms.
Information we collect
We collect information directly from you in a few places:
- Email signups — if you request the free Paddler's Guide or otherwise sign up to hear from us, we collect your email address (and name, if you give it).
- Contact form / email — if you email us or reach out through the contact page, we collect whatever you send us: your email address, name, and the content of your message.
- Store orders — if you buy something, we collect your name, shipping address, and order details. Payment card information is collected and processed directly by Stripe; it never passes through or is stored on our own servers.
- Cart — items you add to cart before checkout are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. We don't receive or store that data on our end until you actually check out.
We do not use tracking cookies, and we don't run advertising pixels (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, or similar) on this site.
How we use it
- To fulfill and ship your order, and to contact you about it if there's a problem.
- To respond to questions you send us.
- To send occasional trip updates or offers by email, if you signed up for them — you can unsubscribe from any of these at any time.
We don't sell your information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of outside services to run the site and store. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Stripe — processes store payments. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your payment information.
- Printful — prints and ships store orders. Printful receives your name and shipping address to fulfill your order.
- Resend — delivers transactional and marketing email on our behalf.
- Google — new sign-ups from the Paddler's Guide form are added to a private Google Contacts list we use to manage our mailing list.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides basic, cookie-free traffic analytics (page views, not individual tracking).
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email list using the link in that email, or by emailing us directly. To ask what information we have about you, or to have it deleted, email [email protected].
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
