Who can enter

You must be 18 or older and a legal resident of the United States. Employees of the sponsor may not enter. Void where prohibited by law.

How to enter

Enter your name and a real email address on this page. An email address is required to enter and to be eligible, because the winner is contacted there. Limit one entry per person and one entry per email address each week. Each weekly drawing takes the entries received from Monday 12:00 AM to Sunday 6:00 PM Eastern, and the drawing is made at 6:00 PM that Sunday. An entry received after 6:00 PM Sunday is not in that drawing, so enter again for the next one. Entries from earlier weeks do not carry over, and you can enter again each new week.

By entering you also join the weekly Blackwater email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list at any time. Leaving the list does not affect an entry already made.

The weekly drawing

Once each week, after the week closes, one winner is chosen at random from the eligible entries received that week. A computer picks the winner with a secure random number generator, and every eligible entry has the same chance. We keep a record of each drawing: the date, the number of eligible entries and the winner.

Weekly prize: the prize changes every week. The prize for the current week is shown on this page before that week opens and does not change once the week has started. Any CAMPFIRE or app access is a free invitation or account upgrade sent to the winner’s email address. Any physical prize (a guide, shirt, hoodie or other item) ships to a United States address at no cost to the winner, and the winner picks any size or edition from what we have in stock. A prize has no cash value, is not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for something else.

Past winners: everyone, including past winners, can enter every week. A person can win a given prize only once. If you have already won a prize, we draw again for you only when a different prize is up, so winners stay in for the other weeks. We may skip a winner who does not reply within 14 days and draw again. The winner is posted on this page as soon as the drawing is done, by first name only. We never show a last name or an email address. Check back after each drawing to see if you won; we also email the winner.

The Okefenokee Swamp Park Field Day drawing

One drawing on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Okefenokee Swamp Park 80th Anniversary Field Day in Waycross, Georgia (our booth is #8). The winner is announced at 3:45 PM Eastern on Pioneer Island. Enter with a paper card in the bowl at our booth or online on this page on October 10. Online entries close at 3:30 PM Eastern that day, and paper cards and online entries are drawn together. You do not need to be present to win; we will email the winner, and any printed guides ship to a United States address at no cost.

Field Day prize: lifetime Camping Wilderness Skills on Skool and the lifetime Camping Wilderness Skills app (for as long as both are running), plus two printed guides: The Okefenokee Paddler’s Guide and The Okefenokee: Why the World Chose This Swamp. The Skool membership is a free invitation sent to the winner’s email address and the app access is a free upgrade on the winner’s account. The prize has no cash value, is not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for something else. One entry per person; at the booth, one card per person. By entering, you consent to be added to our email list, and you can unsubscribe in any email. Online entries made on October 10 also count in that week’s weekly drawing.

The Georgia Bushcraft Fall Gathering drawings

Separate drawings on Friday, November 6 (5:00 PM Eastern), Saturday, November 7 (5:00 PM Eastern) and Sunday, November 8, 2026 (noon Eastern), held at booth E11 in Watkinsville, Georgia. You can enter online here or with a card at the booth, and you do not need to be present to win. At the booth, limit one card per person per day.

Each festival drawing is made from all entries received from 12:00 AM Eastern on Friday, November 6 up to that drawing, online and at the booth together. Entries stay in for the later festival drawings. Someone who has won an earlier festival drawing is not eligible to win another one. Online entries received in that period also count in the weekly drawing for their week.

Friday and Saturday prize: The Blackwater Paddler’s Guide (the original Home Waters guide), the Okefenokee pamphlet, one year of Camping Wilderness Skills on Skool and one year of the Camping Wilderness Skills app. Sunday prize: The Blackwater Bushcraft Guide and four printed guides, with lifetime Camping Wilderness Skills on Skool and the lifetime Camping Wilderness Skills app. The Skool membership is a free invitation sent to the winner’s email address and the app access is a free upgrade on the winner’s account. Prizes have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for something else.

Winners

The winner is contacted at the email address they entered. A winner who does not reply within 7 days may be replaced by another random draw from the same entries. To ask for the list of winners, contact us.

Taxes and other terms

Any taxes on a prize are the winner’s responsibility. We may refuse or remove an entry that uses a false, temporary or borrowed email address, or that tries to enter more than once by other means. We may change or end the drawing if something outside our control makes it unfair or impossible to run, and we will say so on this page.
